I’m on vacation in the Adirondacks, so I thought I’d post a quick comic that I did to teach kids about allusions. There were also lesson plans that go with it, and if you’re interested you can get them here.
This was part of a series of comics on literary elements that I did a few years back. I didn’t finish the series, and I probably should, mainly because they were a lot of fun to do. If you are familiar with Archie comics, you’ll probably notice a lot of similarities with those and what I tried to do.
The cringy panel that I’m not happy with is the last one. The perspective is completely wonky. I fixed it when it was used in a textbook for Pearson India, but this is the original warts and all version.
At this time I was still working exclusively in black and white so that teachers could easily photocopy them.
